Pinwheels for Peace pinwheels for peace
On Thursday, September 21st, the Lincoln Park Elementary School participated in the International Day of Peace ("Peace Day").  Established in 1981 by a unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.

All children in grades K - 4 created pinwheels for peace, which were then displayed outside of the school on Thursday and Friday.  That was over 500 pinwheels!  On Friday, September 22nd, in an effort to "pass along the peace," students each took a pinwheel of their choosing home.

Thank you to Mrs. Moore, LPES art teacher, for again organizing and overseeing this fabulous annual event!
