This year is the start of my eleventh year teaching mathematics! I couldn't ask for a better school to teach in and I look forward to meeting and educating the Class of 2019!

For my classes, I encourage all students to use pencils as well as to have a notebook with a built-in folder or a binder, whichever they prefer. Because each student will have an iPad, many notes will be taken right on the Google Classroom, so having a stylus might be helpful in taking notes.

The best way to contact me is via email. My email address is guza@lincpk.com. If you do not have access to email, you can also call the school, and they will leave a message for me to return your call.

Please remember that Genesis is a great resource to access your child's grade at any time! In addition, I will be using Genesis to post homework assignments during the school year. Please log on and check it out if you haven't done so already! :)

I have a feeling that this school year just might be, "The Best Year Ever!" :D

Welcome to Algebra I and 8th Grade Math!

iBelieve:

  • It is my belief that homework is so important in mathematics. If you can successfully complete homework assignments, quizzes and tests should be no different. Well, maybe a little because of course you need to study for them! :)
  • Success takes work. If you are willing to put extra time into math class, so am I.  I offer tutoring during lunch on A-Days and I encourage any student who has difficulties to take advantage of this extra help.
  • You don't have to LOVE math, but you need to KNOW math. It's my goal to help build the confidence of every one of my students in math.
  • Problems need to be addressed right away. Don't wait. We can find a solution.
  • 8th grade is such an important and exciting year! Let's make it a good one!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy coaching soccer, broadcasting, playing tennis, and staying active. I have the best family and friends a person can ask for and I believe that positivity goes a long way in life. I have had some amazing teachers growing up and it is my goal to be that same type of educator.  As I like to say, "Be much. Become more."
