Hello! Having had the priviledge to work with Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grades for the last fourteen years, I am very excited for my new role as MS Discipline Advisor as I begin my fifteenth year at Lincoln Park Middle School!
I earned a Bachelor's of Art Degree in Language Arts Literacy with a specialization in Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. I am a certified Social Studies and Language Arts Teacher with a Master of Science in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. In addition, I hold a Supervisor's Certificate from the State of New Jersey. Recently, I became a Level 1 Google Certified Educator. I enjoy furthering my education, as it helps me to stay current with trends and advances in education.
I believe that students can benefit tremendously from a balance of both a well-rounded education and active participation in sports, clubs, and other activities. Outside of the classroom, I love to cook and enjoy trying new recipes. I also enjoy working on projects around the house and in my garden. My family is very important to me and I love spending time with them. My husband and I have a two-year-old boy, Christopher, and we thoroughly enjoy every minute of being parents. Our two spoiled dachshunds, Ranger and Ballpark, are also a special part of our lives.
As a former Sixth Grade Teacher/Team Lead, I know that Middle School can be challenging at times, but please know that the teachers and staff at LPMS are here to help you and your son/daughter in any way we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at Nilsson@lincpk.com.
