7th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Brief Bio...

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the Univeristy of Maryland and a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching from Montclair State University. I have been teaching at Lincoln Park Middle School for 15 plus years. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching sports, and fishing.

Welcome to Mr. Spencer's Classroom

Year Objectives:

  • To be an organized and prepared student
  • To be able to analyze and interpret primary & secondary sources of information
  • To comprehend and evaluate the causes and effects of historical events
  • To become critical thinkers and independent learners

Class Guidelines & Procedures:

Students are expected to be on their best behavior in class by following the Golden Rule of treating each other the way that they would want to be treated.

A student who wishes to leave class for any reason must first ask for permission, and then if granted, they must complete the sign in & out sheet, and carry the pass.

Preparation for class is essential.  Each student will be required to bring to each class the assignment due for the day as well as the following materials:

  • A 3 Ring Binder with loose leaf lined paper and dividers
  • Pens and pencils
  • School issued iPad

Homework is assigned on a regular basis, and is due at the beginning of class. On average, homework should take between 20-30 minutes

If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the work.  Check Mr. Spencer's 7th Grade U.S. HIstory Classroom webpage, email me, have a parent email and/or call me for the missing assignments, and/or ask a responsible neighbor classmate to pick up the assignments.

Grading:

The marking period average is based on all work including tests, quizzes, essays, projects, homework, notebooks, and class participation.
