According to the calendar, spring is just around the corner, but doesn't feel like it. Hopefully we have seen the last of the snow and I know I am looking forward to some warmer temperatures.
While I believe we have been fortunate in not seeing an excessive number of illnesses due to the flu, we are still in the midst of flu season. If your child is ill, please remember to keep him/her at home. Children should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Conversely, if your child is not ill, please make sure he/she comes to school. There is a direct correlation between attendance and success at school, and absences only make it harder to keep up. While the work may be made up after an absence, there is no substitute for the discussions and activities that take place in the classroom. Furthermore, middle school is where children begin to internalize habits such as arriving on time and attending consistently. Frequent tardies or absences will establish poor work habits for later in life. Please help to ensure your child's successful future! Let me know how we can be of assistance.
