Monthly News

In the month of May we will be doing some fun spring units on flowers, fruits and vegetables, picnics, and our community.

We hope this nice weather stays with us this month because we have many different activities planned for outdoors; nature walks, bubble blowing, kite flying, and some water play as it gets warmer.

Keeping with the theme of spring, some of the books we will be reading this month are The Very Hungry Caterpillar and  The Very Quiet Cricket, by Eric Carle, Becoming Butterflies, by Anne Rockwell, and Planting a Rainbow, by Lois Ehlert.

As we continue to move through The Reading Street literacy program, we continue to build on our skills such as our high frequency sight words, rhyming words, initial sounds in words and blending words as well.

Kindergarten orientation will be held on Friday, May 18th at 2pm in the gym. Kindergarten screening will be held while your children are at school, so need to set up an appointment.

As the date gets closer I will inform you of when our End of the Year Celebration will be held for our PM class.

Even though the weather is getting warmer, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for school.  Please make sure shirts have a sleeve and shoes have a back, No flip-flops please!!  Thank you!!

*** Also, For Kindergarten orientation, we will be meeting at the elementary school at 12:50.  I will be teaching class there and then be helping with visiting the classrooms with your children.
