Superintendent's Message

       A Message from the Superintendent

As an alumnus of the Lincoln Park Education System, it was a great honor to return to the district as the middle school principal. After fourteen years in that role, I am humbled by the opportunity to lead the district as its superintendent. I have witnessed or been a part of many changes to our district in that time, all of which provided new and unique learning opportunities for our students. During my years as an administrator in this district we have moved from half-day to full-day kindergarten. Math and language arts classes at the middle school increased instructional time by over 40%. A 1:1 computer program began with a single sixth grade class and over the next six years was expanded to include all students in 2nd  through 8th grade. Fortunately, this was in time for us to meet the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic because all students were immediately able to switch from in-person instruction to remote learning once schools were closed in March, 2020.

The staff, students and parents work together closely in Lincoln Park and this provides our students a safe and secure learning environment that is supported by our whole community. Our mission statement is, “The Lincoln Park School District will provide, through its schools, an educational setting that helps children to love and master learning, to work independently as well as collaboratively, and to develop the character and values that promote a healthy society.” I am confident that with our dedicated staff, we will continue to achieve this goal in the coming years, not only in the classroom, but through our myriad of extra-curricular opportunities we offer our students.

Stay well!
